In 1931, Juan Vives and Margaret Albertí founded the Hotel Mar i Vent.

Juan was a fisherman and with the help of Margarita farmed their small number of hillside terraces. Making the best use they could of the privileged position of the family home, with its views to the sea and to the mountains, the Mar i Vent Hotel prospered thanks to its delicious home cooking, which was always made with products from its vegetable plot.

With just four rooms, right from the start they welcomed all their hotel guests with both warmth and professionalism. Very soon their children, Toni and Juanita, began to help them in their day-to-day work. Later on, Toni’s wife Francisca was to join in running the business, which little by little grew bigger and earned itself a reputation.

Nowadays, more than eighty years after it was founded, hotel guests receive a welcome and friendly attention from the fourth generation Vives family who, proudly following the example of their grandparents, take pains to ensure their stay is a delightful and unforgettable experience.
